A workforce housing and childcare proposal for the Yampa Valley designed to function as a complete system—housing, daily life, and financial structure aligned. The project provides 48 units within existing zoning, integrated childcare, transit access, and a self-supporting economic model. Rather than relying on subsidy, rents support operations and retire the initial development cost over time, resulting in a long-term civic asset. This proposal demonstrates how housing can be built, lived in, and sustained without compromise.

Turquoise House – Phoenix, Arizona – 2002
Perched on the mountainside below the North Mountain Preserve, the Turquoise House is a minimalist desert residence shaped as much by necessity as by vision. Designed and built as an owner-builder project, the home uses steel structure, concrete floors, and expansive glass to frame sweeping views across the Phoenix valley. The Duris Residence – 2024-26
The Duris Residence is a contemporary mountain home designed by Easton Architects overlooking Stagecoach Lake in Routt County, Colorado. Perched at 7,000 feet on a pristine alpine hillside, the house is carefully positioned to capture sweeping views of the lake and surrounding mountains while integrating into the natural forest landscape. The residence combines durable low-maintenance materials, rainscreen wall systems, and solar-ready infrastructure to create a high-performance modern mountain retreat built for long-term sustainability and minimal upkeep.

The East Cape Residence is a modern courtyard house set along the coast of Baja California Sur. Organized as a series of low volumes around a central pool terrace, the project balances openness and privacy while framing views to the Sea of Cortez. Shaded outdoor rooms, deep overhangs, and simple material transitions create a calm, durable architecture shaped by climate and site. Steamboat Springs Housing – 2023
A redevelopment proposal for 1200 Lincoln Avenue in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, this project reimagines a long-stalled hotel site constrained by FEMA floodplain limitations. The design introduces a below-grade water retention strategy paired with an above-grade parking podium, unlocking the feasibility of mixed-use housing in a high-cost mountain market. Forty-eight residential units are organized around a central courtyard with shared amenities, while street-level retail activates the main corridor. Drawing from Steamboat’s historic mountain-town character, the architecture blends brick, stone, and articulated massing to create a contextually grounded yet economically viable housing solution.
